Your optometrist will determine which specific components of an eye test are required based on your age, signs and symptoms, medical history, and any previous injuries.

A variety of tests can be performed to measure your overall ocular health and vision including Visual Acuity tests to measure how well you see at near and far distances, Visual Field tests to measure your peripheral or side vision and Refraction testing to help accurately determine your prescription for corrective lenses.

Your optometrist will do eye tests to identify the common causes of blindness such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.

Multiple tests are also done to check for signs of retina disease, glaucoma and astigmatism and to early diagnose cataracts or tumours.

Your optometrist will give you results from your eye exam right away. They will provide you information about your vision, eye structure and eye health and can recommend treatments or surgery if necessary. If you need glasses or contacts, we will provide you with a prescription.
